sausage Roll (Puff Pastry)

How to make curry flavoured sausage rolls, easy step by step instructions, from start to finish.

Method

  • 375g / 13oz Sausage meat, I use ordinary sausages, with the skins cut off
  • 1 Roll Puff pastry
  • ¼tsp White pepper
  • 1tsp Curry powder
  • Egg wash
  • Grease a baking tray, see video for the tray dimensions.
  • Preheat your oven to 190°C 375°F or gas mark 5.
  • Mix the sausage meat with the pepper and curry powder and divide it into 8 portions.
  • Divide the store bought pre rolled puff pastry into 8 pieces.
  • Roll each of the sausage meat portions into sausage shapes and place on the edge of a piece of pastry, brush water on the opposite side and roll up the pastry as shown in the video.
  • Place the completed rolls on the baking tray and evenly space them out.
  • Brush the egg wash over each roll and score 2 or 3 lines across the top of the pastry as shown in the video.
  • Get the completed tray of rolls into the preheated oven and set your timer for 25 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and allow them to relax for a couple of moments.
  • Serve hot or cold.
  • Enjoy.
