Air Fryer Roast Potatoes
How to Roast Potatoes in your air fryer in only 20 minutes, amazing recipe, easy step by step instructions, from start to finish.
Ingredients
Method
- 650g / 1½lb Potatoes
- 30mls / 2tbls Cooking Oil (any neutral oil)
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- Fresh herbs of your choice
- Only use potatoes that are suitable for roasting, I recommend, for the UK, Maris Piper or King Edwards, for the USA, Yukon Gold, are a good choice.
- Wash, peel and chop your potatoes into 3cm / 1¼in pieces.
- Rinse the potatoes in cold water to remove any starch, pat them dry on a towel.
- Get them into a clean dry bowl, add half the oil from the ingredient list ( I use Sunflower oil in the video) and a good pinch of sea salt.
- Using your hands, toss them until they are completely coated with the oil, set them aside for now.
- Pre-heat your air fryer to 200°C / 390°F run for 3 minutes.
- Once preheated, add the potatoes to the basket, set the temperature to 200°C / 390°F set the to 20 minutes.
- After 5 minutes, give the potatoes a good shake, get the back into the air fryer.
- After 10 minutes get the out again, give them a good shake once more and add the other half of the oil, now reduce the air fryer temperature to 180°C / 355° get them back in for the remaining 10 minutes.
- After 15 minutes, give them a final shake, get them back in for the last five minutes.
- The shaking every 5 minutes ensures even cooking and colour, plus shaking roughens up the edges of the potatoes making for a crispier roastie.
- Finally tip them into a kitchen paper lined bowl, to remove any excess oil.
- Remove the paper, add your chosen fresh herbs, (Rosemary, Thyme or parsley are good choices) salt, and black pepper.
- Serve piping hot and crispy.
- Enjoy.
