Bacon and Cheese Turnover
How to make 4 delicious Bacon and Cheese Turnovers, easy step by step instructions, from start to finish.

- 500g / 18oz Puff Pastry
- 125g / 4½oz Cheddar cheese (grated)
- 320g / 11½ Lean Back-Bacon pieces
- 40g / 1½oz Spring onions (Chopped fine)
- 2 Garlic cloves (Chopped fine)
- 2g / 1tsp dried Sage (optional)
- 1 Egg beaten with a dash of milk (egg-wash)
- Divide the bacon pieces into 4 equal piles.
- Add the cheese, onions, garlic, black pepper and sage to a bowl and mix together, once mixed, divide it into 4 equal piles.
- Cut the pastry block into 4 equal pieces.
- Roll each piece into a 18cm / 7in squares, approx 3mm / ⅛in thick.
- Layer each pile of cheese and bacon into each pastry sheet, see video for method.
- Fold the pastry into the turnover shapes described in the video.
- Preheat your oven to 160°C / 320°F / Gas mark 3.
- Place the pastries onto a parchment lined baking tray.
- Completely coat all 4 turnovers with egg wash.
- Place the tray into the preheated oven, and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and serve immediately.
- Serving suggestion, serve with chips and baked beans.
