Garlic n chilli Tenderstem Broccoli

How to make a delicious garlic and chilli Tenderstem broccoli side dish, to accompany any meat.

Ingredients

Method

  • 160g 5½oz Tenderstem broccoli
  • 2 Cloves garlic (chopped)
  • 10 Cherry tomatoes (cut in halves)
  • 1 Red jalapeno chilli (chopped)
  • 15g / 1tbls Extra virgin olive oil
  • Small knob of butter (unsalted)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Lemon juice (freshly squeezed) 
  • Step 1:
  • Blanch the tenderstem broccoli for 2 to 3 minutes in salted boiling water; then cool in cold water; once cold, drain and gently pat them dry with a kitchen paper towel; set them aside until need.
  • Step 2:
  • In a frying pan or wok over medium heat, get the oil and butter hot, add the garlic and chilli, and stir-fry for 1 to 2 minutes.
  • Step 3:
  • Add the broccoli and tomatoes to the pan, and season with salt and pepper. Stir-fry and toss the ingredients for a couple of minutes. Add a squeeze of lemon juice.
  • Step 4:
  • Serve piping hot with a medium-rare ribeye steak or roast chicken breast and fries on the side.
  • Serves 2
