How to make irresistible Oreo Chocolate Bark at home, an easy to make chocolate treat using Oreo biscuits and white or milk chocolate, step by step instructions from start to finish.
Ingredients
Method
- 1pkt Original Oreo Biscuits (Approx 150g)
- 300g / 11oz White or Milk Chocolate (cut small or choc chips)
- Break each Oreo biscuit into 6 or 7 bitesize pieces, and set them aside.
- Grease with butter and line a medium size baking tray/cookie sheet with parchment paper.
- Add 200g /7oz of the chocolate into a plastic or glass bowl.
- Get it into the microwave, on full power for heat 1 minute, stirring every 15 seconds.
- After the first minute your chocolate should be just starting to melt, give it a good mix to even out the heat.
- Get it back in for 10 seconds at a time until it reaches a temperature of 45°C / 113°F, this should take around another 90 seconds to get to that target temperature.
- Once the temperature is reached, add the remaining 100g / 3½oz of chocolate to the bowl and start mixing it in with the melted chocolate.
- This is known as seeding or tempering the chocolate, keep stirring it with a spatula until it all blends in.
- Keep stirring until it reaches a temperature of 29°C / 85°F.
- If you don’t have a thermometer, the chocolate should feel just slightly warm to the touch, flow easily in a smooth ribbon, and looks glossy and fluid, not thick, dull and hot.
- Now you can add your broken Oreo biscuits to the chocolate and gently fold it all together, making sure all the pices are coated with chocolate.
- Scrape the mixture onto your prepared baking tray, and spread it out, until it’s around 1cm / ⅜in Thick.
- Get it into the fridge for at least 30 minutes to set.
- Remove from the fridge, break it into bitesize pieces.
- Bag it up, and give to friends and family, the perfect gift for Easter, Christmas, and Birthday presents.
- Enjoy.
